While it is really easy to get started building in-product Experiences with Chameleon, there are a few things you can consider before jumping in. This way you can jumpstart your Chameleon flow and effectively enable your product's success.

To help you with this, we've put together a checklist to ease you into Chameleon. Follow along!

🌎 Can you download the Chrome extension?

The easiest way to get started with Chameleon is by installing the Chrome extension. If you don't have Chrome installed, you can download it here.

πŸ’» Rally your engineering team!

While Chameleon is easy to install, you'll still need a little bit of engineering time to publish Experiences live to your site - unless you're installing with Segment or Freshpaint. πŸ˜‰

Take this opportunity to draft out your plan for using Chameleon, and send a quick email to your engineering resources to let them know that you'll need some time to implement the Chameleon code snippet.

βœ… What's your "Aha!" moment? Where do your users get stuck?

Before you begin building, consider what brought you to Chameleon. Do you know what action you want your users to take to get them to that Aha! moment and keep them engaged within your product?

Alternately, think about your user journey and at what points your users might get stuck. Do you think users could benefit from using a specific feature in your product that you want to guide them through?

Make a list of these items, and consider this as the first version of your in-product experiences list!

🎨 Do you have a color palette or color scheme in mind?

Now that you have an idea of what kind of Experiences you want to use to guide your users to moments of value, think about what you want them to look like.

This is a great time to connect with your designer (or maybe that's you!) to compile your brand colors or the color palette you want to use! You can check out here the styling options you have in Chameleon and see our Figma file with Chameleon components to help prepare your Experience look.

🎯 Consider your goals in terms of metrics

As you're in the process of building your Experiences, think before of what metrics you can collect and use as a success measurement. For example, you might be using Chameleon to drive additional sign-ups or conversions to your subscription.

Identify your benchmark, and set regular check-in points for reviewing the data. Because you won't need additional engineering help to modify Chameleon Experiences, you can easily iterate on these and see how they are affecting your metrics!

πŸ“ˆ Which analytics tools do you use?

You can use analytics tools with Chameleon to learn more about your users and their journey! Some examples are Intercom, Mixpanel, and Heap.

Make a list of the tools you're currently using and review how we can better use them during your kick-off call.

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’» How many monthly active users do you have?

During your first call with Chameleon, we'll talk about how many users you see on your website monthly. This is how we factor the cost of your plan and what features might work best for your team.

πŸ“ž Schedule your kick-off call with us!

The Chameleon team is excited to meet you! We'd love to learn about how to help and how we can best support you and your users.

The kick-off call is designed to go over this checklist, talk about what might be blocking your progress, and the steps for moving forward.

🎯 You can also duplicate this more in-depth checklist and use it with your team.
